Aquator water purification filters emerged in the 1990s when Adrian Costache, a chemist from Buzău, dedicated his passion, expertise, and hard work to developing a revolutionary water filter. Just four years later, this innovation was awarded the Gold Medal at the International Invention Exhibition in Brussels.
A key milestone in Aquator’s history was the development of water filtration equipment designed for war zones and disaster relief, meeting NATO standards. Over nearly 20 years, our specialists have continuously improved and diversified Aquator’s product range to address water quality issues in Romania—whether from public water networks or unregulated sources (lakes, underground wells, etc.).
The jury's motivation for awarding the Gold Medal at the Brussels International Invention Exhibition was:
“Aquator filters use porous blocks of activated carbon and silver, ensuring natural water filtration.”
🔹 Aquator’s technology combines the incredible absorption power of activated carbon with the selective filtration capability of a microporous solid block.
🔹 Aquator filters mechanically remove:
✔ Sand, clay, rust, sediments, algae, bacteria, and microscopic worms
🔹 Chemical absorption removes:
✔ Residual chlorine from water treatment
✔ Heavy metals and organic pollutants (pesticides, trihalomethanes, petroleum residues, etc.)
✔ Unpleasant tastes and odors
🔹 Natural minerals and oxygen are preserved, ensuring fresh and healthy water.

✔ Solid suspensions (sediments) larger than 0.5 microns
✔ Turbidity
✔ Pathogenic bacteria: Cryptosporidium / Giardia lamblia
✔ E.coli / Klebsiella
✔ Shigella / Salmonella Typhi
✔ Free chlorine
✔ Chlorine-resistant cysts, herbicides, and pesticides
🔹 Colloidal Silver Infusion:
Aquator filter elements contain Colloidal Silver, providing a powerful water disinfection effect.
